Calvin Coolidge in 100 Objects, by a longtime Calvin Coolidge historian and collector, depicts and describes one hundred items associated with the life and political career of the 30th President of the United States. Beginning with his rural Vermont origins, his rise from local politics in Northampton, MA, to his offices in that state's government, to the Vice Presidency and Presidency; letters, documents, campaign pins and literature are all included.
These items will serve to provide background on some of the major events in Coolidge's career, including his college graduation, marriage, becoming President of the Massachusetts State Senate, running for Vice President and President, and his four remaining years after leaving national office. Many quotes from Coolidge's campaign and speech pamphlets found here have not been previously published in any book. This book should appeal to both historians and political collectors.
